Every week, the activity programme is varied in order to best suit the students. The Director reserves the right to modify the programme if necessary.

You can select only activities that interest you (see more information here: FEES) or sign up for all the scheduled activities with one of our study/activity packages.

In case of bad weather, outdoor activities will either be rescheduled or be replaced by indoor activities. If the activity has to be cancelled due to the weather, the fee will be reimbursed to those who paid.

The Director or a member of the UELAS team will always accompany you and you will be supervised by professional guides as well.

You don't need to be a professional athlete! What's important is to have fun while getting some exercise and trying new sports together!
Our remarkably unspoilt environment offers numerous possibilities for outdoor activities such as:

• Hiking in different alpine valleys while observing local flora and fauna
• Rock climbing at "Via Ferrata" sites

You'll have the chance to visit some magnificent places in the "Hautes-Alpes" and to take lots of fantastic photos to bring back home :

• "Lac de Serre-Ponçon", the largest man-made lake in Europe, along with the museum about its history and construction (Muséoscope)
• The "Mont-Dauphin" fort
• The "Fontaine Pétrifiante" rock formations in Réotier
• The Queyras Valley
• The Boscodon Abbey
• A day at the seaside: Sightseeing in Marseilles or on Porquerolles Island (for an additional fee)
  

Cultural Activities

We offer you a range of fun cultural activities to broaden your knowledge of French language and culture:

• Guided tours of Gap's historic town centre plus scavenger hunt
• An outing to the "Charance", a local park which houses the Alpine Botanical conservatory and features a renovated château
• A visit to the municipal/regional museum
• Artistic workshops (woodwork, drawing, painting...)
• Gardening workshops
• Talks on various themes: French cuisine, geography, etc...
• Cooking classes (for an additional fee)

Evening Activities

Why not continue your immersion in French culture with some evening activities? Gap has a programme of lively summer activities in the town centre to suit every taste:

• Various forms of street entertainment, usually free
• Late night shopping on Tuesday evenings
• Open-air concerts in the park on Thursday nights (free)
• Classical music concerts
• Traditional public dances
• Carnival rides

Evening activities are not included in the fee packages as most of them are free of charge. Otherwise, students need to pay the entry fees.

All specialised activities are supervised by trained guides.
